Sara Raymond is a dance studio owner, choreographer, instructor and UCWDC Advanced Line Dance Competitor. She has been an instructor for 20 years, starting at just 18 years old through Parks and Rec in Nanaimo.

From there Sara opened up a dance studio and has done many fun projects throughout the years, some including: taking students to the world championships, creating salsa teams, creating first dance wedding routines and teaching at various dance events.

Currently her dance studio has a children’s performing arts studio which she offers ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop and latin dance classes. She has students dance recreationally and at a competitive level.

Over the last year, Sara has been also trying to help build the dance community in line dancing and west coast swing with all of the other amazing talent on the island. At her dance studio she offers group classes for adults as well as monthly dances at the studio.

She is also putting together a big dance convention in May at the Nanaimo Conference Centre which will be bringing instructors from all over the world in Line dance, west coast swing, salsa and bachata.

To keep things fun, Sara and her daughter Maira also travel around to UCWDC events where they compete in Line Dancing. They will be going to the world championships January 2024 and also plan to go to Florida UCWDC championships in 2025.
